The Kea nests in burrows or crevices among the roots of the tree. I have chosen the Kea because they are mostly known for their intelligence and curiosity, both vital to their survival in a harsh mountain environment. Like did you know that the Kea can solve logical puzzles such as pushing and pulling things in a certain order to get to food, and will work together to archive a certain objective.

Kia ora Makayla,
ReplyDeleteI had no idea that Kea were able to solve logical puzzles and to work together collaboratively as a group. That is pretty impressive, isn't it?Now that I think about it I remember reading that a Kea was as smart as a four year old child.
I hope that we are able to protect and preserve kea for many generations to come!
Cheers,
Rachel
P.S. If you were to adopt a real Kea bird, what do you think that you would call your Kea? Do you have any ideas? I think that I would call my Kea 'Kathy.' What about you?
