Final post for 2017 (from school)

Today is the last day we get to have our Chromebook at school for 2017. I have had an amazing year with my friends and teachers. I was in Mr Goodwin's literacy class and also his maths class. My highlights were Camp Bentzon and more. I loved camp Bentzon because I had a lot of fun and I loved the activities. Another highlight throughout the year was going to Stardome because it was really educational and fun. Next year I am feeling excited because I can't wait to be a Year 7 and also to be in the senior block. I am also excited to go to Rainbow's End for the Year 7 trip.

Walt: using descriptive language

Dear Helpers and Organisers, I would like to say a huge thank you for helping our school organise this event. I really loved this event and it was really fun. I tried my best and it was amazing, Thank you so much.

Athletics day was so wonderful and full of joy. I had so much fun spending time with some friends and teachers. It was so hilarious watching others try their best and start laughing. It was such a great and fun day, I loved it so much.

My favorite part was when we watched the kids, teachers and parents have a race. It was so funny watching everyone run for their team and run their fastest. I was cheering my friend Santana’s mum and dad on, because they were apart of the parent team. Me and Santana are in the same house color so her mum and dad were racing for our house color.

Next year I am really excited for athletics, because I really love all the activities. I am also really excited to cheer on my friend’s and teachers. I am so excited for what’s going to happen at next year’s athletics.

I enjoyed watching others try their best and give it a try. I also enjoyed all the activities at this year’s athletics, it was amazing. I learnt that I could at least try do as much as cheering others on, and that I could try and encourage myself as well.

Term 4 Immersion Assembly Recount

Have you ever seen your teachers sing like animals before? Yesterday Pt England had their term 4 Immersion Assembly. The assembly was about introducing the term’s topic to our school, which is called musical madness.

Team four’s topic is about creating our own music and sounds. The Team 4 movie was like a ad about Pt England music. It was incredible and crazy, the teachers were singing so funny and their actions were hilarious. I thought that the movie was so funny to watch.

I want to learn how people can edit songs so good. This is because I love the way people edit songs because then it gets released as a great song. But I hope that we learn to create our own music track and video.  I would love to make my own music track and video because it looks really fun.

I think that the Term 4 topic is so great and fun. I can’t wait to find out what we’re learning about, I’m so excited. I hope that we learn about music and different techniques.

Star Dome trip

Walt include a variety of sentence types in our writing

On Friday last week Team 4 went to Stardome. We were split into 3 groups, and went at different times. Have you ever been to Star dome before?

Once it was our turn we went inside the Observatory and went into a room and listened to a guy talk about the solar system. We already knew a lot about the solar system but he taught us even more, at first I was like “what are you talking about”. But then he started to talk even more and then he taught us a lot more about the solar system. After that he told us that we were going to do a quiz about what we just learnt. Then we had to go back to our groups and get ready for the quiz.

Once it was time to do our quiz we got into our groups and started. But our group was split in half, so the girls in our group went in one group and the boys in our group went in another group. Our group leader for our group was Tenei, she leaded our group and told us what we had to do. So to do our quiz we had to look for the pictures and read the articles to find our answer. There were a lot of questions and once we had finished we had to hand it to the lady.

After the quiz we went into this room, where we watched a movie about the solar system. The movie was cool but it made me feel motion sick. While I was watching the movie my friend Santana felt sick, she told me that she felt like she was going to faint. Then I started to freak out and told her to look at the chair. Then I started to watch the movie again, and then I looked at Santana and then she fainted. Then I had to tell a teacher and I felt sorry for Santana.

At Star dome I learnt that the sun is more than five thousand km. I also learnt more about the planet in our solar system. I would love to go back to Star dome again and learn even more about space.
