Once there was a Insect named Menelepedia. She was taking a stroll for her morning exercise. She was walking around the forest and saying hi to her neighbors.

Suddenly she was still saying bye to a neighbor when suddenly she bumped into the Camo jumping spider. He was furious. “Watch where you are going girl I will hurt you” said the spider. “It wasn’t my fault” said Menelepedia. “You are gonna get hurt now” said the spider. “Oh no”.

“Wait, wait I’m sorry I don’t want to get hurt I’m sorry” said Menelepedia. “Hmm ok then I accept your apology, you’re lucky” said the spider. “Go run before I change my mind” said the spider. “Thank you so much” said Menelepedia. After that she ran home to get to safety.

My insect

It flies around looking for a good home and when it is found they stay there for a few years, then they look for another home. It lives in bushes in the forest and stays high in trees away from birds. It behaves good around other insects. But they are not good around birds, and they get threatened easily.

Year 5/6 camp 2017

Walt: write about our experiences on camp.

On Wednesday the 8th of March there will be an event held at our school and that is the Year 5 & 6 camp. We will be sleeping in tents with people from our camp groups. This event will be held from Wednesday to Friday. We will also be doing activities with our group, so technically we have to spend our whole day with our group. I’m in Miss Scanlans group the principals.

I am looking forward to going to the pools and bombing. I also can’t wait till concert night because then we get to perform in front of our parents and we get to watch other groups dance. I so can’t wait until camp comes I am so ready for it.

I am also hoping to sleep with my friends that are in my group or with some of my other friends. Or I am hoping that the whether is good. I also hope that the group I am in goes kayaking first.

But on camp I am nervous that we will have to be evacuated because of the whether. But did you know that last year we got evacuated, and I was so tired and wet. That is why I am nervous about that.

So I can’t wait until camp because last year I had so much fun and I would like to experience that time again. But I hope it’s good whether so we can have a great day and it will be nice. I hope camp will be as great as last year.

Native birds in Tamaki

Walt: write persuasively.
What’s your favourite bird in Tamaki? Should we have more native birds in Tamaki. I think we should because they are important to Tamaki.

I think that we need to have more kakapo in Tamaki. I think that because there’s no kakapo in Tamaki. I also think that because they are also extinct to NZ.

I also think that we should have more kiwi in Tamaki because out of the whole country kiwi’s are nearly extinct. So I think that we should have kiwi’s in Tamaki. I also want to see kiwi’s in Tamaki because I love them and they are pretty.

I wish that Tamaki would have less Magpies because they are really annoying and they really scare me. I also think that they are kind of dangerous to some kids. So that’s why I think we should have less Magpies.

I think that having more native birds that are nearly extinct in NZ is good to have them in Tamaki to help increase the population. I also think that having less non-native birds is good for Tamaki so we can be more native. So that’s what I think.
